What are Chests and how do they work?

If you've received a Chest recently and want to know more about them, we have some answers for you:

What are Chests?

Any time you play real money games on our site, you earn reward points that are added to a progress bar. Once your progress bar is complete, you'll receive a Chest. These Chests contain rewards tailored to you based on your recent activity.

There are six different Chest levels. Their rank, from low to high, goes like this:

  • Blue → Bronze → Silver → Gold → Diamond → Black

The higher your Chest level, the better and more valuable the rewards. You'll get a new progress bar every time you unlock a Chest.

You can move up or down the levels depending on the number of Chests you earn during a rolling 28-day period. As you move up, the points required to complete the progress bar will grow, but so will the rewards!

  • Moving up a level: To upgrade to the next Chest level, you must earn a number of Chests within a rolling 28-day period. The number of Chests needed to upgrade varies depending on your current level.
    • Here's an example: To upgrade from Blue to Bronze, you must earn 5 Blue Chests within 28 days. And to upgrade from Silver to Gold, you must earn 7 Silver Chests within 28 days. But you'll need 10 Chests to upgrade from Diamond to Black.
  • Keeping your current level: If you earn at least one Chest in a rolling 28-day period, you'll stay on the same level.
  • Moving down a level: If you don't earn a single Chest within 28 days, you'll be moved down a level.

Learn more on our PokerStars Rewards web page, where you'll also find a complete breakdown of Chest values.

How do I open an unlocked Chest?

Go to 'My Rewards' in the PokerStars lobby (or within the lobby's Promotions & Rewards hub, where available) and select 'Chests'. From there, pick the Chest you want to open, once it's possible:

  • A green padlock means you can open the Chest.
  • A yellow hourglass means the Chest is still locked. It's shown underneath when it unlocks.

You can open a Chest before, during, or after your session. You have 30 calendar days to do so. Once they expire, Chests hold no value.

To track your current Chest status, look up your records under 'PokerStars Rewards', either within 'My Rewards' or under the hub.

Where can I see when a Chest will expire?

Again, go to the 'Chests' section of the 'My Rewards' tab to check on any details.

You can find the expiration date displayed underneath each Chest.

As mentioned above, you have 30 calendar days to open any unlocked Rewards Chest and claim your prize.

IMPORTANT! There are also Chests awarded outside our loyalty program, and their expiration may vary.

  • You'll find out about the expiry date in the terms of the particular promotion or once the Chest has been dropped.

Open all your Chests on time, and don't forget about them. Once expired, they're gone and can't be reinstated.
